It’s time to plan your summer camping trips and get those campsites reserved! Oregon State Parks accepts reservations for arrival up to 6 months in advance which means now is the time to make your summer Oregon beach camping plans before space fills up.

While last-minute, same-day online reservations are now allowed as of January 2024, you have the best chance of securing a campsite if you reserve in advance. Reservations are required for coastal Oregon camping, meaning any State Park campgrounds located along the Oregon Coast. Coastal campgrounds in Oregon are very popular and campsites get snatched up quickly, especially when the weather warms up.

Can I Camp on the Oregon Coast Without a Reservation?

If you are just passing through, unreserved sites are sometimes available for one night only. Check the reservation website for last-minute availability and make a same-day reservation online from your phone.

👉 Local’s Tip: We’ve had some luck reserving last-minute campsites for the middle of the week, but coastal Oregon campgrounds are usually pretty full on weekends. Check the reservation website to see if there might be one last available campsite and snag it while you can.

Although there are first-come-first-served campsites throughout other parts of Oregon, you’ll need to make a reservation for the State Park campgrounds located along the Oregon Coast listed here.
