Who We Are

We’re Oregon Coast Weekend, an online travel guide and resource dedicated entirely to exploring the cities and towns, beaches, parks, campgrounds, hiking trails and hidden corners of the Oregon Coast.

The site is owned and edited by a local Oregonian who grew up in the region, earned a B.A. in English from the University of Oregon and has over 20 years of experience in media and publishing. She has written and edited for National Geographic’s The Green Guide, Transitions Abroad, Go Nomad, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and many other regional magazines and local newspapers on the East and West Coasts. What We Do and Why

Our goal is to provide personal, reliable, current and local information for travelers planning a trip to the Oregon Coast. We strongly support responsible tourism with respect to our natural environment and we are locally owned with a deep connection to this place. We want to share everything we know about this beautiful area so others can enjoy it too.

Whether you’re a Pacific Northwest resident or first-time visitor, you’ll find useful travel information about Oregon Coast towns to explore, the best beaches, camping and hiking trails, oceanfront hotels, yurts, cabins and unique lodging options, the best seafood restaurants, must-see road trip stops and scenic viewpoints, itineraries, maps, attractions, weather and other travel-related tips, resources, products and services to help you plan your trip.

The Oregon Coast is also rich in history and cultural traditions, shipwreck stories, strange sea creatures, giant rock formations, mysterious beach tunnels and towering old-growth trees. We’ll stay up to date on the coastal environment and local communities and share these stories with you as well.

We hope to create a space for travelers near and far who love the Oregon Coast as much as we do and inspire others to go on new adventures and discover all this incredible region has to offer.
