Looking to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors in Oregon more in 2024? There are several days throughout the year when parks around the U.S. waive entrance and day-use parking fees.

Below, we list the 2024 fee-free annual holidays so you can mark your calendars and make travel plans in advance.

Fee-Free Days at Oregon Parks in 2024

Each agency has their own policies regarding which holidays will be honored, so be sure to check with the individual department to be sure.

Jan. 15 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

April 20 – First Day of National Park Week

June 8 – National Get Outdoors Day

June 19 – Juneteenth

Aug. 4 – Great American Outdoors Day

Sept. 28 – National Public Lands Day

Oct. 13 – First Sunday of National Wildlife Refuge Week

Nov. 11 – Veterans Day

Free Fishing Weekends in Oregon for 2024

On free fishing days in Oregon, you don’t need a license to fish, crab or clam anywhere in the state. Free for all! See details at ODFW

Oregon State Parks also offers free days throughout the year for day-use fees.

State Parks Day has been a tradition since 1998 as a way to thank Oregonians for their support. We will post the 2024 date here as soon as it is announced.

Also as a reminder, Oregon State Parks is now accepting reservations for arrival 6 months from now, so go ahead and get your summer campsites reserved before the parks start to fill up.
