5. Stay Awhile
Lodging fills quickly for Labor Day, but last-minute rooms may open up. Your best chances of finding a room are in larger towns with bigger hotels and more room inventory, like Astoria, Lincoln City or Newport. Cancellations may appear in the late afternoon (3–5 pm), so be sure to keep an eye out and book as soon as you spot a room.
If hotels are booked solid in your destination, try adjusting your dates by one day (if possible), check vacation rentals nearby or look for a last-minute campsite cancellation.
⏰ Tip: Be sure to leave early to avoid traffic heading to the coast for Labor Day weekend as it is a busy holiday for travelers. Early risers will have the best chances of avoiding crowded parking lots, trails and popular attractions.
Have a great Labor Day weekend at the coast!
